Uses:
Ancient medical reputation, now-a-days it is used extensively in Mediterranean cooking and dental preparations. Oregano should be diluted with a carrier oil when applied to the skin. One drop taken internally each day can help maintain healthy immune function; oregano can be taken more frequently as needed to further support the immune system. In addition to being a popular cooking spice, Oregano also supports healthy digestion and respiratory function when taken internally.
DIY (do it yourself):
1. Mix 2 -3 drops of this oil in a glass of water and dab on the acne with a cotton ball. Discontinue using it if you discover redness or irritation.
2. This oil can be either ingested in the form of capsules or applied topically on the scalp and it can used in a diluted form with other carrier oils like coconut, olive, jojoba, tea tree oils, etc.
3. In case of muscle aches, you can massage your muscles with oregano oil diluted in coconut oil, moving towards your heart.
Blends Well With: Bay, Bergamot, Camphor, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Citronella, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, Oakmoss, Orange, Petitgrain, Pine, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Thyme.
Cautions:
Oregano oil from Origanum vulgare, as well as oil extracted from Thymus capitatus (Spanish oregano), is a dermal toxin, skin irritant and mucus membrane irritant and should not be used in aroma diffusers and should also be avoided in pregnancy.
